R57-MILLION SOCCER 13 HEADLINES AN EXCITING WEEKEND There’s never been a better weekend to bet your maximum on TAB’s range of soccer bets. The football menu is mouth-watering with a host of top-flight matches locally and in the UK Friday through Sunday - and there are mountains of cash to be won with five carryover pools and a guaranteed R57 million pool for those who get all 13 matches correct in Saturday’s Soccer 13. BANKER BETS GALORE IN THE EPL AND CHAMPIONSHIP That’s more money than most dream about and the great news is that there’s a pile of potential banker bets in Saturday’s Soccer 13, which comprises English Premier League and Championship matches plus the League One clash between Charlton and high-flying Wrexham, the Welsh club owned by famous actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. On the face of it newly-promoted Wrexham should win. They are doing far better than many expected so far this season and are currently full of confidence and lying second in the League One table, four points behind Birmingham who are aiming to go straight back on the Championship after surprisingly been relegated last season. Charlton, however, will not be pushovers at home and beat Birmingham a few weeks back. We see seven potential bankers in the other 12 games - all of Aston Villa, Brentford, Brighton and Manchester City look set for home victories in the EPL. And in the Championship Burnley, log-leaders Sunderland and West Brom all look tough to beat at home. Inevitably, given the nature of soccer, one or two of those may come unstuck with Sunderland perhaps the most likely candidate if they have a slightly off day. Carryover Soccer 10s add excitement to the weekend many will opt to make Kaizer Chiefs a banker to win away against SuperSport United in tomorrow’s carryover pool that should total well over R1.5 million. Green shoots of hope are starting to spring at Kaizer Chiefs with the goals flowing in Nasreddine Nabi's first few games as Amakhosi head coach. It remains to be seen if Chiefs can end a run of nine consecutive seasons without a single piece of Premier Soccer League silverware, but the early signs are promising. On Saturday, Chiefs will play SuperSport United for the second consecutive weekend, this time in the Premiership. Last Saturday, in the Carling Knockout Cup last-16, Chiefs battered SuperSport 4-0 at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
