Silver Knott can atone for an odds-on defeat earlier in the month with victory in Goodwood's BetGoodwin Festival Stakes.
The five-year-old has been a fine performer for Godolphin in recent seasons, with his juvenile campaign including two Group Three wins while he was placed in Grade One company at three as he spent nearly the entire season in America.
Charlie Appleby stuck with the US theme last year too, with Silver Knott not lining up domestically, instead triumphing three times in five Stateside starts.
He was a short price to win at Meydan in March when favoured by race conditions and duly did the business, but he hit the buffers in his first British run in two years when beaten just over a length by Bellum Justum in the Jockey Club Stakes at Newmarket.
Silver Knott travelled well but just ran out of petrol in the closing stages over a mile and a half, so it perhaps makes sense to drop back in distance and company here given the more exacting test British tracks can present.
Mr Hampstead has seemingly found his niche at staying trips and can complete a course and distance double in the Racing To School Reaches 250,000 Handicap.
As a full-brother to Classic winner Savethelastdance, Amo Racing had high hopes for this $575,000 purchase - so much so they pitched him into last year's Derby despite not having hit the target in three previous maiden starts.
Unsurprisingly that proved beyond him, as a did a subsequent Queen's Vase run, but Raphael Freire placed him to finally strike over the same two miles he faces here at the start of the month.
His five-and-a-half-length winning margin in his first handicap was impressive and although the handicapper has raised him 7lb for that success, such was the manner of his victory that it may not be enough to stop him.
Beset can make the journey from Ireland pay dividends by winning the British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies' Handicap.
Previously a winner for Henry Candy, she was a shrewd purchase at 25,000 guineas in the autumn, winning first time out for Joseph O'Brien at Sligo nearly three weeks ago.
She found plenty of trouble in running that day so looked good value for a length and a quarter.
Unequal Love should be given chance to redeem herself in the Women In Racing/British EBF Cecil Frail Listed Stakes at Haydock.
She was another to be beaten at odds on at Newmarket's Guineas meeting, but perhaps just needed her first outing since October.
Wild Desert is one to note in the Betfred Supports Jack Berry House Novic Stakes.
Another Appleby-trained Godolphin runner, Wild Desert has a pedigree out of the top drawer as a Too Darn Hot half-brother to Shadow Of Light and Earthlight.
