WEEKEND SOCCER HIGHLIGHTS: 03 - 05 Jan 2025

THREE BUMPER POOLS ON THE FIRST WEEKEND OF 2025 TAB is wasting no time in promoting its great range of football bets in 2025 and two Soccer 10 bets kick off with R200,000 added this weekend, plus there’s a R200,000 carryover to the Soccer Any 13 Xtra. The pools are loaded with matches from the top leagues, including five PSL games and the 20th match week of the English Premier League. Here’s your chance of to get your bank balance in glowing health after the Festive Season. VILLA LOOK THE TOP BANKER IN R200,000-ADDED SOCCER 10 Saturday’s cash-added Soccer 10 contains a fascinating combination of games and several may not prove as easy to predict as looks the case on the surface. Aston Villa, Manchester City and Bournemouth are all odds-on favourites to win at home and of the three Villa look the most certain to succeed against a Leicester team, who will be lucky to avoid relegation without some inspired signings during the current transfer window. City are 1-3 to beat West Ham at the Etihad and the visitors’ chances have been blunted by recent injuries to key players Michail Antonio (car accident) and Jarrod Bowen (ankle/foot). Nevertheless, City were hardly convincing in beating Leicester recently and their current capacity for defensive blunders has to be a worry no matter the standard of opposition. Bournemouth should have the edge over Everton and English Championship log-leaders Leeds United also rank a banker bet to win away at Hull City. Two PSL matches are included and many will fancy TS Galaxy to win at home against Magesi, who have hit a brick wall since beating Sundowns in the Carling Knockout final and lost five in a row. But Magesi do have a new coach in Owen Da Gama after major issues between management and Clint Larsen and could improve. Local outfits Sundowns, Pirates and Stellenbosch will all be in action in African club competitions this weekend. Pirates can take a big step towards the African Champions League quarter-finals by winning at home on Saturday against Stade Abidjan. And in the African Confederation Cup, Stellenbosch are home to Angola club Desportivo Lunda-Sul, who they beat in the reverse fixture. They should both win, but Sundowns may be happy to settle for a draw in their away clash with Raja Casablanca in Morocco. The match of the weekend has to be Liverpool at home to Manchester United on Sunday. This is always a bruising encounter between two old rivals, but the betting (1-3 Liverpool; 10-1 United) says it all and it will be a major shock if the hosts don’t come away with three points.
