WEEKEND SOCCER HIGHLIGHTS: 27 -29 DECEMBER

HERE’S YOUR CHANCE TO END 2024 WITH A BUNDLE OF CASH 2024 is in its final days and for TAB soccer customers it’s going to be a grand finale with great matches and cash-added Soccer 10 pools this Friday and Saturday, plus a guaranteed R22-million pot to be shared by those who correctly the forecast all the games in Sunday’s Soccer 13. Here’s your chance to close off the year with a huge win! RELY ON SPURS, PLACE & FOREST IN R22-MILLION SOCCER 13 On the local front the curtain comes down on 2024 with a full set of Premier Soccer League fixtures, something of a rarity nowadays, plus there’s a full set of English Premier League games Sunday through New Year’s Day. You will find all the top games in TAB soccer pools and for many football fans - Sunday’s must-play Soccer 13 aside - the weekend’s Soccer Any 13 Xtra may be the most attractive bet. The games include PSL and EPL clashes, there’s a R200,000 carryover and you choose which 13 matches to bet on. Champions Mamelodi Sundowns continue their journey under new coach Miguel Cardoso with an away game against second-from-bottom Richards Bay in Durban on Saturday. Sundowns have won all six previous meetings with Richards Bay, conceding only two goals in the process, and look a banker bet to extend their winning sequence. SuperSport United’s clash with Stellenbosch later the same evening is tougher to call. Both go into the game with 15 points, but Stellenbosch have played two games less because of African Confederation Cup matches and could have the edge. Sunday sees high-flying Orlando Pirates, play away in Polokwane against bottom-of-the-log Magesi, whose coach Clinton Larsen walked out recently. He had long been irritated by interference from club officials and after winning the Carling Knockout last month, issued an ultimatum to let him get on with the job or he would pack his bags. Pirates lost to Magesi in a 3-2 shock defeat at the Orlando Stadium in mid-October, when they were 3-0 down at halftime but fought back and almost scored an equaliser in the last minute. Don’t expect a repeat this time. Pirates wiped the floor with Gallants midweek and could do the same to Magesi who have lost four in a row. Sunday’s mega Soccer 13 is a mixture of EPL and Championship clashes and looks winnable if you can navigate past the one or two inevitable upsets. Liverpool look bang on track to win the Premiership, but it wouldn’t be a major shock if they dropped a couple of points in a London clash with West Ham. Three other London clubs are at home - free-wheeling Spurs should outscore Wolves and Crystal Palace look set to shade Southampton, but Fulham may have to settle for a draw with Bournemouth. Nottingham Forest go away to Everton and should post their fifth win in a row, while the best banker bets in the Championship look to be home wins for Bristol City and Watford, and Leeds to win away at Derby.
