WEEKEND SOCCER HIGHLIGHTS: 8 - 10 November

HERE’S YOUR CHANCE TO WIN A MILLION FOR JUST R2! Here’s your chance to become South Africa’s latest instant millionaire for R2! On a weekend loaded with good soccer and cash-boosted pools, Saturday’s TAB Soccer 13 tops the menu with a guaranteed R21-million pool for the all-matches-correct portion. No doubt that the bet could deliver a rocket payout if there are a few form reversals in the 13-match line-up. ONLY GAMES FROM UK’S TOP 3 LEAGUES IN R21-MILLION SOCCER 13 he good news is that it’s an all-English pool with six Premiership, five Championship and two League One clashes. The not-so-good news is that you wouldn’t want to bet your house on any of the games, but chances have to be taken somewhere and Liverpool, struggling Manchester City and bottom-of-the-log Wolves all appeal as bankers to win. Liverpool are hot and take on Aston Villa at Anfield in a clash you have to fancy the Reds to secure all three points, in spite of visiting manager Unai Emery being certain to set up Villa defensively with the hope of scoring a goal or two on the counter. Fact is Villa have not looked at best lately and were horrible against Club Brugge in Champions League midweek, a match they would have drawn but for Tyrone Mings conceding an idiotic penalty. City travel down to Brighton and many Seagulls’ fans will reckon this is just the right time to take on Pep Guardiola’s side, who are at their lowest ebb in recent times after three successive defeats. City, even taking their excessive injury list into account, were idealess on attack and dreadful in defence against Sporting Lisbon midweek. But for Brighton it might prove just the wrong time to play City because serial-winner Guardiola will have wasted no time in knocking his men back into shape. Wolves, still without a victory after 10 games in the English Premier League this season, will not find an easier opportunity to get on the board than Saturday’s home game against Southampton, who are bright on attack but vulnerable at the back. For the record Southampton have not managed to win away 12 games running and last beat Wolves back in 2019. In the Championship games, Leeds look a stand-out banker to win and it could pay to also make a win banker of Derby.
