Trip Of Fortune to keep record intact

Trip Of Fortune, a son of Trippi, came of age last season and took his game to another level, culminating in a first Grade 1 victory in the HF Oppenheimer Horse Chestnut Stakes at Turffontein in April. He went on to win the Grade 2 Drill Hall Stakes in KwaZulu-Natal and held his own in three subsequent Grade 1 outings during the winter's Champions Season. Candice Bass-Robinson's charge, who is undefeated in three starts at Hollywoodbets Durbanville, makes his eagerly anticipated seasonal reappearance on Saturday over 1400m. And given he has a 100% record in five starts over the distance, Trip Of Fortune, with Aldo Domeyer up, can be confidently backed to make a winning return in Race 4, a Cape A Stakes. The first of the features, the Non-Black Type Prestige Plate for three-year-old fillies over 1400m, has attracted a small but quality field, including Drakenstein's Irridescence Stakes winner Beach Bomb for Domeyer and Bass-Robinson. The R600,000 Cape Racing Sales Ready To Run Stakes is, on official ratings, at the mercy of Sean Tarry and Richard Fourie. They are represented by another of Gimmethegreenlight's exciting three-year-old crop in Tail Of The Comet, who made a scintillating winning debut at Hollywoodbets Scottsville before finishing an eye-catching and close-up third in a two-year-old Grade 2 late last season. Tarry's charge confirmed all of that promise with a commanding comeback success on the Highveld last month and is likely to remain in Cape Town ahead of a big summer season, during which he could be aimed at races like the Grade 1 Cape Guineas or even the L’Ormarins King’s Plate.
