VICTOR BONIFACE: “WE STILL HAVE 2 FINALS TO BRING YOU”

Since Pep Guardiola has been at the helm in the blue side of Manchester, only Chelsea and Liverpool were able to disturb a 7-seaon haul of EPL titles landing in the Etihad Stadium trophy cabinet. This season, with the title chase being a 3-horse race, it’s still Manchester City that seems likely to win the title for a historic fourth consecutive time. If history has anything to do with it, before last season, Man City have always seemed unbeatable in the last stretch of games in the league, but last season, even though they’d already secured their league title, they drew and lost the last two games of their season, which fuels possibility and hope into the Liverpool and Arsenal camps. DERBY AT THE EMIRATES Still searching for their first league title since relocating to their new-age home, Arsenal will face up with a Chelsea side that seems to be keen to end their torrid season on a high. Having narrowly lost by a goal to nil against Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-finals, Chelsea will draw strength from their last Premier League game which ended with a 6-0 margin to them against Everton. It will probably be brought to the attention of Chelsea’s new-look squad that in the clubs last five visits to the Emirates, the team have earned victory on two occasions with three of those other games ending in victory for the Gunners. But this season, Chelsea have not been the best team away from home. Out of the 15 away games they’ve played, Chelsea have only been able to garner 19 points of the possible 45, which doesn’t make for good reading for anyone involved with the Chelsea institution. On the other hand, despite the recent 2-0 loss to Villa at the Emirates, Arsenal have been one of the best teams when playing at home, so a win for the Gunners could be on the cards on Tuesday night. When it comes to players to look out for in the upcoming London derby, Cole Palmer leads the race in that regard although he might miss out due to an illness. Currently sitting joint-top of the scoring charts in the EPL with 20 goals scored, Palmer sits in the top 3 of the top performers in front of goal (goals & assists) across Europe, sitting behind only Harry Kane and Kyllian Mbappe. TOFFEE’S WELCOME LIVERPOOL Jurgen Klopp makes his last trip to Goodison Park, a stadium that he will be dreading to go to if their past results there have anything to go by. Liverpool’s last 10 trips down the road to Goodison have only yielded two victories and 14 goals scored by the Reds, which will be concerning for Klopp and his men. However, Jurgen Klopp will be pleased to be facing one of his favourite nemesis’ in Sean Dyche, whom he has faced 16 times and conquered on 14 occasions. Coming off the back of a 6-0 defeat in midweek, Everton were able to bounce back in a crucial 6-pointer against Nottingham Forest that sees them veer further away from a relegation scrap. The 2-0 win against Forest will ease the pressure off the Toffee’s as they take on Liverpool with a draw likely to be an acceptable outcome at the end of the day. Despite asserting their dominance during their recent visit to Craven Cottage this past weekend, Liverpool have proven to be capable of shooting blanks despite creating an uncanny amount of chances in front of goal, a concern for Jurgen Klopp as they now visit a stadium they’ve only been able to get two wins from in their last ten visits. With that being said, a win is necessary for both clubs as Manchester City sit in third place with a game in hand over both teams. Should City win all of their remaining games, they’ll make history once again as they’ll lift the EPL for the fourth consecutive time.
