World Pools on Ascot meeting

July 2022

TAB horseracing customers get another opportunity to bet their maximum without significantly reducing payouts on the King George VI race meeting at Ascot this Saturday.

The seven-event card is headlined by the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Qipco Stakes, a 2400m Group 1 event that has long been the midsummer highlight of the British horseracing calendar.

TAB will offer its normal range of international bets on the meeting and all Win, Place, Swinger and Quinella bets will be commingled into the UK Tote, which in turn will commingle into the Hong Kong Jockey Club’s massive World Pools.

Six runners have been declared for the King George with three-year-old Westover set to start hot favourite on the strength of a third in the Epsom Derby, in which he would have been much closer with a clear run, followed by a runaway victory in the Irish Derby.

TAB betting details for Saturday’s Ascot meeting are below.

ALL RACES: Commingled Win, Place, Swinger, Quinella (FIRST, SECOND any order); SA POOLS: Exacta, Trifecta, Quartet AND Place Accumulator (Races 1-7), Jackpot (Races 4-7).

NOTE: All bets R1 unit; minimum bet R6 except SWINGER, QUINELLA minimum bet R2. EACHWAY bet of R3 Win and R3 Place, as well as 3-horse EXACTA or TRIFECTA Box or 4-horse SWINGER Box for R6 total cost can be taken. If more than 30 carded, TAB operates SA pools on race and SA rules apply. All runners numbered 30 and higher are bracketed as Number 30, which can only qualify once for dividend purposes.

PLEASE NOTE: Win, Place, Swinger, Quinella commingled by UK Tote into Hong Kong Jockey Club World Pools. HKJC rules will apply. HKJC PLACE Rules: Less than 4 runners no Place betting; 4-6 declared runners payouts FIRST, SECOND; 7 to 20 declared runners payouts FIRST, SECOND, THIRD; 21 or more declared runners payouts FIRST, SECOND, THIRD, FOURTH.
