4Racing wishes to inform stakeholders that following a two-month trial period of the adjusted racing conditions, we have conducted a thorough review of the outcomes and overall impact of the initiative.
As you are aware, the trial introduced more flexible race viability criteria, allowing races to proceed with a
minimum of two runners and more than two trainers, alongside a scaled stakes structure based on field size.
While this approach was implemented with the intention of supporting race continuity and participation, it
has not delivered the outcomes we had anticipated.
After careful consideration of the data and broader industry feedback, it has been decided to revert to the
previous racing conditions, effective from the scheduled meeting at the Vaal on 5 May 2026.
Under the reinstated framework : Racing Operator conditions will apply.
We believe this approach will better support the integrity, competitiveness, and sustainability of our racing
programme going forward.
We would like to thank all stakeholders for their engagement and input during the trial period.
Your continued support and collaboration remain critical as we work to strengthen the sport.
