MOODLEY AND VEALE SHARE SUNDAY SPOILS

Sunday's eight races at Hollywoodbets Greyville is split into four maidens and four handicaps, with jockeys Serino Moodley and Sean Veale good value to ride a double apiece at the meeting.

The former should get off to winning ways aboard Plinian in Race 1 and return to the winners' enclosure in Race 3 as Sign Of Fate is a confident pick to win Leg 1 of the day's Pick 6.

Mia's Athena, sandwiched between those in Race 2, is one of the better bets on the card and should deliver the first of Veale's two winners with Duncan Howells-trained Kitchakal likely to be the other after a narrow defeat last time.

WORLD POOLS AND WORLD-CLASS ACTION TO SAVOUR

Weekend racing on the Knavesmire is headlined by the Group 1 Nunthorpe Stakes at York on Friday's card which also features the Lonsdale Cup and Gimcrack Stakes, both Group 2 events.
Highfield Princess is good value to turn the tables on her Royal Ascot conqueror Bradsell and successfully defend her crown in the Coolmore Wootton Bassett Nunthorpe Stakes, won previously in the past by Australian wonder-mare Black Caviar.

John Quinn’s superstar mare enjoyed a fantastic campaign last season, with her triumph in this race 12 months ago the middle leg of an impressive Group 1 hat-trick that also included the Prix Maurice de Gheest at Deauville and the Flying Five at the Curragh.

The Group 2 City Of York Stakes and Group 3 Strensall Stakes are the main attractions on Saturday's card at the same venue.

LIM'S KOSCIUSZKO GUNNING FOR GLORY

Top-level action returns to Singapore on Sunday with the running of the Group 1 Lion City Cup over 1200m at Kranji, and reigning champion Lim's Kosciuszko appears poised to secure a fifth Group 1 success of his career when he lines up in the feature event.

Undefeated in three starts this year, having failed on the international in the Group 1 Hong Kong Sprint at Sha Tin in December, the Daniel Meagher-trained champion should assert his superiority over the locals and should be backed to win easily.
