Jack Milner: Kenilworth racing presents punters with an entire card of Maiden Plates on Monday.
But before one starts throwing one’s toys out of the cot, please take note that often these races at level weights make life a lot easier for punters.
The key to these races is form, and fortunately for bettors, there is form aplenty in many of these races.
Standout bet looks to be Vida Futura in Race 3, a Maiden Juvenile Plate over 1400m. Futura is continuing the Dynasty line and appears to be doing an outstanding job in the process.
This Justin Snaith-trained colt made his debut over 1250m at Durbanville and did not attract any betting support. In fact, stable companion You Know Who was all the rage but he found On The Road Again too good by 0.75 lengths.
Vida Futura ran on well to finish fourth, just 0.35 lengths behind his stablemate.
You Know Who atoned for that loss next time with an easy 1.25-length victory over Jet For Time over 1400m at Kenilworth and Vida Futura can follow suit, this time with Richard Fourie up.
