Veronique to extend Fourie’s lead

Richard Fourie rode his 300^th winner at Hollywoodbets Scottsville and has been the case for the past few months, he looks the man to follow at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Tuesday.

He has some potent rides but best of the day could come up in Race 7 where he rides Veronique for trainer Greg Ennion.

The five-year-old Pathfork mare has been a close runner-up in her last two races over 1400m and the drop to 1200m in this Class 5 event for fillies and mares looks ideal.

Fourie rode her last time when she finished a 0.30-length second behind Grandiosa and the fact he is keen to ride her once again over 200m shorter looks relevant.

She looks the best banker on a tricky card.

Candice Bass-Robinson-trained Saint Brigid couldn’t show her true form in her last start but looks to have much in her favour in Race 4, an Open Maiden for fillies and mares over 1600m.

She tried hard when second to Plum Pudding in her penultimate start and that filly has won again and looks likely to add further to her tally.

In her last start she jumped from the widest stall, raced wide on the bend with no cover and never turned it on from there. This time Aldo Domeyer will have the advantage of jumping from pole position.
