The Listed Off To Stud Stakes over 1600m heads up Sunday’s card at Scottsville.
Track And Ball KZN Oaks winner Keep On Dancing has had an incredible season for trainer Wendy Whitehead.
She has won five out of her last six and her winning run appears set to continue at Scottsville on Sunday.
She looks head and shoulders above the field she meets in Race 7, the Listed Off To Stud Stakes over 1600m.
Granted, horses such as Flower Of Saigon and Jacqueline are weighted to turn the form around with her but those, and many other useful fillies, have not looked even remotely dangerous when running at the Silvano filly in those last two wins.
The only concern is the big drop in distance, but she is versatile, has Warren Kennedy in the irons, and has the best of the draws.
Caya Coco, stablemate to Flower Of Saigon, has beaten the mighty Captain’s Ransom and was second in a feature at this venue a few runs back.
If she gets the race run to suit, she could offer a fight back, and is one to include in exotics after backing Keep On Dancing for the win.
Another horse with a lot of quality in his form and is also expected to win well, is Specially Selected in Race 2. This Duke Of Marmalade gelding has powerful Highveld form.
He was second to subsequent Graded raced runners in his last two and many have come out from behind him to win.
He makes his local debut in this Maiden Plate over 1000m.
All of Ndaka, Global Path, Soweto Rose, Rowntree and Trafalgar Square have shown potential and should fill the Trifecta and Quartet positions but on form will battle to trouble the top selection.
