The Richard Fourie – Alan Greeff combination can have another good Friday at Fairview, and it could start as early as Race 2. Terminal Velocity, a Global View filly, could prove a bit better than some modest rivals in this Maiden Plate over 1600m on the Polytrack.
Terminal Velocity was well supported to win on her local debut but Golden Croc was a bit better on the day. That has been the case a couple of times so far in her career, but from a good draw she should have the run of the race.
This is only the second time Fourie rides her, and he will have learnt from that narrow defeat.
It is interesting that Fourie has been carded to ride Walkonthewildside in Race 3, a Conditions Plate over 1600m, as Greeff has three entries and she is not the obvious choice of rides. However, Fourie is contracted to ride for Ridgemont and this is one of their horses.
Stable companion Splicethemainbrace likes the Polytrack and was a narrow winner in a better field than this last time out.
The combination complete the card with an improving three-year-old in Wild Fig. This Fire Away gelding was narrowly beaten last time out and should have further improvement in him.
