In the second leg of the Pick 6, the Grade 2 World Sports Betting Hawaii Stakes over 1400m, it was none other than Sean Tarry who took the honours with Under Your Spell.
Already a Grade 1 winner, this daughter of Capetown Noir added a second Grade 2 title to her resume under jockey Louis Mxothwa for the first time.
According to Mxothwa, he was not at all worried about the fact that he had never ridden Under Your Spell.
"My only concern was during the race when I was stuck three wide," said Mxothwa. "I thought Oh dear, it's not ideal.
"But I tried to race her as tight as I could. S'manga (Khumalo, aboard Red Saxon) went a little bit early and he gave me cover, so I just sat longer and longer.
"Every time I asked for more, she was there, which gave me more confidence to bide my time.
"It's not easy racing three wide and still win a race like this, so well done to Mr Tarry."
After the second leg of the Pick 6, there were 76,942 live tickets with the provisional minimum payout R77.
