Jack Milner: Sunday’s race meeting has been switched to the turf track at Hollywoodbets Greyville but hopefully that will enhance the chances of Path To Fortune in Race 3.
Following heavy rain over Pietermaritzburg, the race meeting scheduled for Scottsville had to be switched to Greyville. With the average penetrometer reading at 24, the going at Greyville is reported to be good to soft. Anton Marcus joins forces with Garth Puller on Sunday and they could be the team to beat in Race 3, a Maiden Plate over 1600m, where he rides Path To Fortune. This three-year-old Pathfork gelding has only raced three times and did well enough last time when finishing a two-length third behind African Skyline over 1400m on the Greyville Polytrack last time. The move to Greyville could work in his favour as his first two runs at Scottsville were not exciting. Path To Fortune did pull last time and that is a concern, but he is drawn well and does not come up against the toughest opposition.
