Strydom to steal it on Money Heist

Piere Strydom is quite content these days to travel all over the country as he attempts to reach his target of 5,500 winners.

On Sunday it is the turn of Hollywoodbets Greyville as he has picked up three quite decent rides for trainer Gareth van Zyl.

While he has winning chances on all three the runner who really sands out is Money Heist in Race 6, a Graduation Plate over 1600m. The three-year-old son of Gimmethegreenlight has only run twice, ending up a fast-finishing 1.70-length third behind Fire Lord, who went on to win again, on debut, and then producing a superb win from No 13 draw at Scottsville to decimate his opposition by three lengths.

This colt is clearly very good and the fact he is only features in fifth place among the best weighted runners should not perturb punters as he is clearly better than his merit rating.

What is more intriguing is that Strydom has been declared to carry 2.5kg overweight, and that is till unlikely to create an obstacle.

Whatever the case, Money Heist should be too strong for the field he meets in Race 6.

Strydom also rides Zinikele (Race 2) and Music Is Life (Race 3). Zinikele was well supported in her last start and almost pulled it off. She appeared a bit lost turning for home and found only one better, by 0.40 lengths, in Fabulous who had a clearer passage to the wire. Strydom is likely to jump her out from a much better gate and give her every chance.

While Music Of Life looks to have work to do to oust horses like See It Again and Duke Of Rock, he has valuable experience at the track which could aid the gelding’s chances.
