Strydom father and son on fire at Fairview

A midweek Fairview Polytrack meeting is what punters can look forward to in the Eastern Cape on Wednesday and veteran Firealley could strike another victory.

The now eight-year-old gelding has not won for 240 days, but he looks the right one in Race 4, a Pinnacle Stakes over 2000m.

Firealley has eight wins from 60 starts, and his last win back in August was a solid success in this division over a similar distance. The Flower Alley gelding beat Zatara Magic by a length that day, and that rival has gone on to win three times since, including the Algoa Cup.

It is also worth noting that the gelding has won three of his eight starts on the Polytrack. Jockey Kyle Strydom rides for his father, Jacques.

He will have to fight off a team of three runners from trainer Alan Greeff. Bournemouth has a good record on the surface, Golden Peace is doing well of late, and stable jockey Richard Fourie is aboard the consistent Global Ally.
