Stormy Day to keep the sun shining at Turffontein

Trainer Johan Janse van Vuuren has some classy three-year-olds in his yard and it will be interesting to see how they perform as the season progresses.

A few of them will be in action at Turffontein on Sunday when racing takes place on the Inside track.

In Race 5, a Novice Handicap over 1200m, Van Vuuren has four runners carded but Top Division has been scratched. Nevertheless, his remaining trio should dominate the race and they are headed up by exciting debut winner Stormy Day.

The Argentinian-bred filly will again be the subject of plenty of attention and betting interest after her impressive 1160m demolition job on the Standside course in late July.

With the suspension of Gavin Lerena, Craig Zackey has picked up the ride this time and she will be hard to beat.

She is joined by stablemates Blushing Bloom with Muzi Yeni up, and Merryweather, to be ridden by S'manga Khumalo.
