Spanish Voice can collect at Kempton

March 2026

Spanish Voice should hit the right notes for Andrew Balding in the Sri Lanka Wonder Of Asia Handicap at Kempton Park on Monday.

The four-year-old will be making only his fourth career start in the 2400m contest after returning earlier this month following a break of 302 days.

However, that lengthy absence did not stop the Lope De Vega colt from securing victory at Lingfield.

Callum Hutchinson, who will be in the saddle once again, steered Spanish Voice to an odds-on 2.75-length success to support a Newmarket triumph from his previous appearance in April of last year.

He has a healthy opening mark of 85 for this handicap bow and has the potential to improve again in the near future.

John Galt's experience should be enough to land the Sporting Times Restricted Maiden Stakes.

Jamie Osborne's four-year-old has finished fourth on both of his all-weather starts, although last time out it was at class three level.

He steps back down in grade for this 2400m affair, while the booking of jockey Billy Loughnane is a big plus.

At Southwell, Ben Pauling's Afancy Getaway should finally get her nose in front in the attheraces.com/marketmovers EBF Mares' "National Hunt" Novices' Hurdle.

The six-year-old was runner-up on her third career start at Ludlow early last month but was only 4.75-lengths behind odds-on winner Diamond Du Berlais, who will be at the Cheltenham Festival in the Ryanair Mares' Novices' Hurdle for Willie Mullins.

That bodes well for Pauling's charge should she replicate that display in Nottinghamshire.

Tread Carefully is another who should benefit from previous close shaves in the Sky Sports Racing Sky 415 Maiden Hurdle.

Nigel and Willy Twiston-Davies' five-year-old has faced a couple of good ones in his short career, finishing behind Cheltenham-bound Hurricane Pat and A Pai De Nom - the latter favourite for the Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle.

He has two runner-up finishes from four starts and those experiences should come to the fore.

At Wolverhampton, Perola can put two runner-up honours on the all-weather to good use in the Daily Profit Boosts At betmgm.co.uk Restricted Maiden Stakes.

Richard Hughes' son of City Lights went down by a neck on debut at Kempton and was a 2.25-length second last time out at Dunstall Park.

Perola steps up to 1400m for the first time and that increase in trip could be what the three-year-old needs. - Press Association
