Seaniecon can go one better and lose maiden tag at Hereford

February 2026

Jonjo and A J O'Neill's Seaniecon can get off the mark under rules in the Silvershine Turf Services Maiden Hurdle at Hereford on Wednesday.

The five-year-old is a point-to-point winner who made his debut over hurdles at Ludlow in January, finishing second in a 4200m maiden when beaten only a neck with the third-placed horse well adrift.

A step up to 4800m looks just the ticket for the bay son of Capri, who gains plenty of stamina from the dam side of his pedigree as his mother was also a winning stayer.

On the same card Glancing Jack can come to the fore in the Blackmore Building Contractors Novices' Hurdle for trainer Tom Symonds and jockey Ben Poste.

The gelding was a bumper winner last term who started out over hurdles over this same 3200m trip in January, finishing second with a neat round of jumping in what was a pleasing debut.

After that sound introduction he can step forward and get his head in front when returning to the same course this time.

All Moonshine can rise to the task on the all-weather at Kempton when she tackles the Bet £20 Get £20 With Unibet Fillies' Handicap.

The Oasis Dream filly was bred by Kirsten Rausing, out of a once-raced mare called Alla Luna who is a half sister to the Group Two winner Shine So Bright - trained like All Moonshine by Andrew Balding.

The latter horse has run three times to date, each time over 1400m on the all-weather, finishing third on debut before winning a pair of novice events.

The latter of those two successes came under a penalty, and the bay now steps up to 1600m with Oisin Murphy in the plate and every chance of making a winning handicap debut.

At Southwell Naana's Crystal looks poised to build on her last run when vying for the Bet £10 Get £40 With BetMGM Fillies' Restricted Novice Stakes.

Marco Botti's Kingman filly was the runner-up of a Kempton novice earlier in the month and returns to the track ready to go one better.

At Wetherby there appears to be a fine opportunity for Tim Vaughan's Love Sonnet in the Book Tickets Now At Wetherbyracing.Co.UK Juvenile Hurdle.

The four-year-old has thrived since joining the stable and switching to the National Hunt code, finishing second in a maiden event on debut and then winning two successive novices.

The latter victory was an 8-length win at Newbury under a penalty in December, a sure sign of the plentiful ability that should serve her well under James Davies as she takes to the track for the first time in 2026. - Press Association
