The sixth-year-old mare Santa Therese will on Friday be aiming at a record-breaking third consecutive win in the R200 000 Listed Betway Insurebet Jockey Club Stakes. Santa Therese is one of the favourite horses in the Alan Greeff stable and will take her place in the feature for fillies and mares over 2000m on the Fairview Turf track. Santa Therese, bred by Wilgerbosdrift and Mauritzfontein, has been a stellar performer for her owners Lee and Celso Scribante and Steven Jell. She has won 12 times from her 25 starts for total stakes of R724 500. Santa Therese has been nominated as the Champion Older Filly/Mare for the past season. She was also nominated the previous season when Glacier Gold was the winner. The Awards will take place on September 9.
