Punters in for a weekend betting bonanza

January 2024

TAB horseracing customers can look forward to a bonanza month-end Saturday loaded with opportunities to recoup Festive Season expenses many times over.

The World Sports Betting Cape Town Met headlines Cape Town’s raceday of the year at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth this Saturday and there are two mega TAB carryovers - a R2-million Pick 6 carryover set to generate a total pool of some R10 million and a R1-million Quartet carryover on the big race.

And what will appeal to many is that the Pick 6 may be easier to catch than normal. Many pundits reckon See It Again is virtually unbeatable in the Met and if they are right, the Pick 6 is effectively a five-legged bet guaranteed to return an inflated payout because of the carryover.

Saturday’s Cape meeting is also a World Pool event and TAB Win, Place, Exacta, Quinella (first two any order) and Swinger bets on Races 1 to 10 of 11 will be commingled into the Hong Kong Jockey Club’s huge pools. So, if you have a strong fancy, you can have a full go on any of the commingled bets without significantly denting the payout.

For TAB online customers the great news is that the prize money for this Saturday’s Daily Champion Punter competition on the Met meeting has been upped to R30,000. Opt into the competition on the website, bet at least R100 and you will be in the running for the R15,000 first prize with R10,000 for second and R5,000 for third. Tap on Competitions @ www.tab4racing.com for full details.

No matter whether you are trying to multiply winnings or recoup losses come Race 11 at Kenilworth, TAB has a grand offer for online customers. Have a Win bet and TAB will refund your full stake up to R5,000 if your horse runs second.
