PARADE RING DRESS CODE REMINDER

January 2024

4Racing Media Release

Johannesburg, 3 January 2024

Dear Trainers

A press release about the dress code of the parade ring (including the lead in) was issued on 22 November 2023.

Unfortunately, a number of trainers are ignoring the new rules and continue to enter the parade ring incorrectly attired. This makes it extremely difficult for security to control owners and connections when trainers themselves do not adhere to the dress code.

In addition, trainers are also allowing people with inappropriate attire to lead in horses, also in blatant disregard of the dress code rules.

For those who may have missed it, we set out a copy below:-

Parade Ring Dress Code (Men):

Top:                         Collared Shirt or Golf Shirt (No Jacket Required)
                                 T-shirt (Jacket Required)

Bottom:                    Long pants

Shoes:                     Closed shoes or smart sneakers

NOT ALLOWED:       Shorts, sandals, flip flops or boardshorts

Parade Ring Dress Code (Women):

Recommended:        Dresses or ensembles (top & skirt) are recommended

Shoes:                     Heels, Wedges, Smart Sandals & Smart Sneakers

NOT ALLOWED:       Boardshorts, flip flops

Children under 16:

Must be accompanied by an accredited adult

Must adhere to the dress code

Although the Vaal dress code is not as detailed, please note that no man wearing shorts or slops will be allowed in the parade ring or lead in area.

Security have been issued clear instructions not to permit access and to remove anyone from the parade ring (including trainers) who do not adhere to the dress code.

As previously stated, we are aiming to enhance the racing experience and standard to benefit all punters and connections and we rely on our trainer base to lead by example.

Ends.
