Moodley’s good run to continue at Scottsville

Serino Moodley has started the new season with a bang and he has some promising rides at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Sunday.

Moodley is currently on a strike rate of 20.3% for the new season after ending last season with a win percentage of 11%. He does a lot of work for trainer Andre Nel and in Race 1, is aboard Nel’s Trippi filly, Thingamabob.

Thingamabob has decent form but her last start stands out as the form line to beat. She raised her game to finish second beaten only 1.50 lengths by Justin Snaith’s classy filly Clair De Lune ahead of another prominent sort, Queen Regent. She jumped from a wide gate then handing the winner 3kg and third placed runner 7kg.

Copacabana, who came from the clouds to win her last start in amazing fashion is another horse that has a big chance with Moodley up. She lines up in in Race 5, a Class 5 Handicap over 1400m.

The Dennis Bosch trained mare battled a slow pace when tried over the course and distance previously but there looks to be a lot of speed with frontrunning youngsters Sneeuwitjie and Schipole among others this time. She could be too strong at the finish.
