Midair let favourite backers down when last seen but can make amends in the Support Target Ovarian Cancer And Save Lives Novice Stakes at Windsor.
Trained by Harry Charlton, Midair was well supported to open his account when switched to handicap company last month, having previously been denied by just a neck in an Epsom novice.
However, he endured a troubled passage as he struggled to find racing room in the final couple of furlongs, eventually coming home just under four lengths behind the winner in fourth.
It is hard to say he would have won, but Midair certainly would have been close and Charlton clearly thinks another novice event is a better option than a handicap to get off the mark.
In the O'Malley Haulage British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies' Novice Stakes, it is Richard Hughes' Pouting who appeals.
The Blue Point filly was second when beaten only a short head on debut at the same track and after doing her best work late on she now steps up a furlong in trip.
Approval has been knocking on the door ahead of the Download The Racing App 43 Now Novice Stakes.
Well beaten on his only juvenile outing, the William Haggas-trained gelding suffered a neck defeat on his first spin in 2024, before again finding one too good in April.
Both of those starts were on the all-weather, so it will be interesting to see how he fares back on turf here.
Kiss Me My Love should be good enough to get a win on the board at the third attempt in Carlisle's Bet At RacingTV Restricted Maiden Fillies' Stakes.
Charlie Johnston's runner has finished second on each of her two starts so far, going down by a length and a half on debut to Up The Clarets before finding Larchill Lass three and a quarter lengths too good.
On both occasions, she easily accounted for the rest of the field while still looking a bit green and given she is bred to relish a mile in due course, this try at six furlongs looks a smart move.
At Pontefract, Ardeur can take the Northern Commercials Iveco Sales, Service, Parts EBF Maiden Fillies' Stakes for Ralph Beckett and owner-breeders Juddmonte.
The filly, who is by Kameko, comes from a good bloodline on the dam side and was fourth on debut at York last month.
There she looked to warm to the task as she went on and now she is in at a lower grade, she looks a clear contender.
Beckett can also be on the mark with Esmeray in the following Racing For Everyone Handicap.
The four-year-old finished third in a fair race over 10 furlongs at this track on her seasonal bow before going on to edge a short-head victory at Lingfiel last month.
She moves back up to a mile and half here having previously finished third at that trip last term on soft ground, but quicker conditions should help her cause.
Clive Cox's Bella Taslina can get her head in front in the AK Bets Best Price Euro 2024 Restricted Novice Stakes at Lingfield.
The Tasleet chestnut was second on debut to a subsequent 1000 Guineas contender and then fourth of 10 next time out when not afforded a clear run at Kempton.
This contest is a slight drop in grade and among plenty of inexperienced rivals she can come out on top.
