Hollywoodbets Scottsville has been a happy hunting ground for Sean Tarry during the winter season as he has so far brought 12 runners to the track for four wins and two seconds.
There were two Grade 1 wins among his successes and the good run is expected to continue at the track on Wednesday as he is carded to have four runners at the meeting.
Many pundits have the view that a lot of horses need a run or two at the track to get used to the undulating track but Tarry’s runners appear to have adapted immediately.
Tarry sends out That’s My Baby in Race 1, Let’s Go Now in Race 2, Princess Azariah in Race 3 and Willow Express in Race 6 and all but Princess Azariah will be ridden by Gavin Lerena.
Princess Azariah has Rachel Venniker on her back which means the two-year-old daughter of Pomodoro will also get a 1.5kg allowance.
All four have winning chances but the one that does stand out is Let’s Go Now in Race 2. She is a full sister to Grade 1 winner and Hollywoodbets Durban July third Bless My Stars and looks to have lots of potential to the extent that Tarry has nominated her to run in the Grade 1 Thekwini Stakes on 30 July.
The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight has only raced twice, finishing unplaced on debut and then running out a comfortable 2.75-length winner over Countess Danza.
The form of that race has been bolstered by first a victory from fifth-placed Canford Rose and more recently by runner-up Countess Danza who upset hot favourite Gocekwithlove at the Vaal last week.
What has been particularly impressive about Let’s Go Now’s two runs is that in both cases she ended up far back in running yet produced the fastest final 400m. She still seems to be learning the art of racing and one gets the impression that once the penny drops, she could start to follow in the footsteps of her sister.
She is well drawn in gate No 3.
