Jack Milner
Fairy Knight makes his first appearance of the season at Fairview on Friday and this talented three-year-old son of Global View is expected to make it a winning one.
He does come up against some useful hard knockers in Race 4, a MR 80 Handicap over 1600m on the Polytrack, but based on what we have seen of him so far, he could have a promising three-year-old career.
This Alan Greeff-trained runner has raced five times for two wins, two seconds and a third place and those two seconds were in feature races where he was defeated by two very decent runners. The first was in the East Cape Nursery over 1200m where he went down 3.25 lengths to Vision Of Wonder but then settled the score twice.
In his next start Fairy Knight avenged the defeat with a 1.75-length victory over 1200m on the Polytrack and again in the Listed Champion Juvenile Cup where they finished second and third behind Questor who was named East Cape Champion Juvenile at the recent awards dinner.
Richard Fourie has ridden him in all of his starts and will be back in the irons once again.
He tries 1600m for the first time which should not prove a hurdle, but he is drawn slightly wide at No 9.
Greeff and Fourie could also be on the mark in Race 5 with another talented three-year-old in Back For More.
She needed the experience when third behind Marshmallow on debut but just two weeks later she came out to beat Questor by 0.75 on the turf track.
After a break she was caught out of her ground early in her third start but finished well to finish a 1.25-length fourth. She gives weight all round this time but should prove up to the task.
