Jade to get bettors off to a winning start

Once again, a competitive Polytrack meeting at Hollywoodbets Greyville today faces bettors, but they can get off to a winning start with a bet on Jade’s Caberneigh in Race 1, a Maiden Plate for fillies and mares over 1000m.

The three-year-old daughter of Gimmethegreenlight has been knocking at the door in her last three runs and is overdue a victory.

While her last two races have been on the turf, three runs back she did try the Polytrack where she finished fourth, beaten just two lengths by Storm Jewel. Subsequently trainer Peter Muscutt ran her in blinkers and in both cases she showed loads of pace, only to be caught close home.

The blinkers have come off for this race and that could help jockey Craig Zackey to get her to settle. He has the benefit of jumping from No 1 draw, always an advantage at this track.

Another fortuitous event is the scratching of Sea Of Tears, who did look the main danger.

That leaves What Now My Gal as the likely danger and Exactas and Swingers with Jade’s Caberneigh looks the way to go.
