Have a ‘Blue’ day at Greyville

There look to be a couple of really good bets at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Monday with one proviso, – they need to perform well on the Polytrack.

The first of these comes up in Race 2, an Open Maiden over 1400m, where the Candice Bass yard sends out Blue Steel. He has run some decent races in the Cape and was transferred to their satellite yard on KwaZulu-Natal early in the year.

He ran second over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on his debut in the province and only his bad behaviour cost him the race. He should have settled down well enough and his manner of racing should suit the Polytrack.

From No 3 draw with Serino Moodley in the irons, the gelded son of Erik The Red is expected to go gun to tape.

The other runner is Hathighwaytothesky in Race 8, a Class 4 Handicap for filles and mares over 1200m.

Tony Peter has some decent runners at this meeting but this three-year-old daughter of Hat Puntano brings some promising for to the race. She has raced five times for two wins and two places and looks to be getting better with each run.

She jumps from gate No 4 and will have Calvin Habib up.
