The 4Racing Grooms Soccer Tournament will probably be played in wet conditions at the Fairview Racecourse soccer grounds on Saturday.
Rain is predicted when the teams will start to battle it out for the R9 000 prize money - R4 000 for the winning team, R2 000 for the runner-up and a R1 000 each for the teams which lose in the semi-finals.
The tournament was scheduled to start last Saturday but has been postponed to the coming Saturday 21 October.
The semi-finals will then be played and the first match kicks off at 12:30. The second should get underway at 14:30.
The finals are on Saturday 4 November from 10:00 to 12:00 and will form part of the Algoa Cup Festival.
On this day the action will get underway at 09:00 with exhibition matches between the Fairview Race Course junior teams, u/11’s and u/15’s.
These half hour matches will set the scene for the finals to follow.
The prize giving will take place at 13:00 in the Fairview Parade ring on the 4th.
