Jack Milner: It looks a case of Alan Greeff versus Gavin Smith in the Aloe Handicap (Non-Black Type) over 1300m on the Polytrack at Fairview today.
Greeff saddles three of the six runners in this race for three-year-old fillies and his trio should dominate the event.
Topping the pile is Bloom, who has raced four times for two wins and two second placings, all of them on the Polytrack. Her last two runs were over this distance, which procured one win and one runner-up spot so she will have no problem with the distance.
With the jockeys not allowed to travel currently and regular jockey Greg Cheyne confined to the Western Cape, Teaque Gould has picked up the ride.
Joint top weight is Herrin, another of the Greeff runners. She has had 10 starts for her two wins. This daughter of Qurerari has, however, taken on the best of her generation in a couple of her losses and was not disgraced.
But they could be split by Intrepid Traveller, trained by Smith. She is at the top of her game, having won three of her last four starts. She could be stretched a bit over this 1300m but must be considered.
