Many of the runners are closely matched at the weight but it could be worth going with Paul Matchett-trained Gee For Go, who has been running in top-flight filly’s company.
In fact, five of her last seven races have been in features and she has bumped the likes of stable companion War Of Athena and Captain’s Ransom.
There are some decent colts and geldings lining up against her but she travels well for S’manga Khumalo and could give the boys a run for their money.
The biggest threat is likely to come from Willow Express from the Sean Tarry yard. He has won his last two starts and it appears Lyle Hewitson has opted for this three-year-old gelding as opposed to stablemate Tree Tumbo.
Nartjie and Bold Jazz are also strong candidates in an open race.
Mike de Kock saddles a very well bred first-timer in Race 3 in Sybaris. Bred in Ireland, this daughter of Fastnet Rock out of a Galileo mare, could well be hard to beat in this Maiden Plate for fillies and mares over 1450m, especially now that Bold Decision has been withdrawn.
Because she has been bred in the northern hemisphere, she is six months younger than her opposition but as this is not the strongest of fields it could be worth making this filly a banker in all bets.
