Get a short shock at Fairview

It is back to Polytrack racing at Fairview on Friday but there could be three horse worth betting on at this meeting.

Short Sharp Shock is the first of them in Race 2, an Open Maiden over 1300m. This Grey's Inn filly is threatening to win a race and has been runner-up in two of her last three starts.

Blinkers have got the best out of this Kelly Mitchley-trained filly and jockey Muzi Yeni can encourage her to get her nose down at the line. She is well enough drawn in gate No 5.

Backers of Silver Stardust last time out considered him an unlucky loser and will be looking for him to make amends and take out Race 4, a MR 66 Handicap over 1900m.

The Silvano gelding reportedly took no interest in the opening stages of his last race over 1300m on the Polytrack and was well back when turning for home.

He then found traffic problems when looking a probable winner and eventually finished fourth. Considering he was 11 lengths back at the 400m mark, the fact he finished just 4.25 lengths off the winner was a decent performance.

He will take a massive step up in distance and will be running over 1900m for the first time but this Alan Greeff-trained runner does have a top jockey up in Richard Fourie who should get him to win.

Trainer Sharon Kotzen keeps up her stream of winners and Get It Done showed improvement when winning a big-field handicap over 1600m last month and although she picked up a five-point penalty that may not be enough to anchor her and she can follow up in Race 5, a MR 68 Handicap for fillies and mares over 1900m.

Louie Mxothwa will be back in the irons.
