Fourie has solid rides at Kenilworth

Richard Fourie looks the man to follow at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Saturday. All of Magical Place, Swiatek, Oncidium and She’s My World rate as horses with big winning chances.

Magical Place (Race 1) could be in a fair field as there are newcomers bred in the purple, but he was not rushed in his debut race when a promising second behind impressive October Storm. He had resolute galloping older horse Thunder Downunder well beaten and with the run under his belt could bag the cash for in-form trainer Eric Sands.

Justin Snaith’s yard has been firing at all centres and the Snaith/Fourie combination is a powerful one. Swiatek got her confidence boosted carrying top weight of 61.5kg to win and in Race 4 looks capable of following up over the same course and distance (1400m) with 57kg. She is up in class but appears the one with scope to improve, more importantly in-form main dangers Kamchatka and Fun Zone may not enjoy the drop in distance.

Oncidium (Race 5) rates as the best bet. The daughter of Grade 1 SA Fillies Classic winner Orchid Island looked a different sort in her second start dictating as she liked and runner-up Apricity franked the form easily straight after. She is taking on a low-level field on handicap debut but must be headed for much better races.

She’s My World, a daughter of star stallion One World, is dropping in class in her heat (Race 8) and looks hard to beat. After running out an easy winner of her maiden she wasn’t far off Absolutely Yes who went on to win the Grade 3 Langerman. She then stayed on well to take third in the Listed Irridescence Stakes. She takes a big drop in class and could end a big day for Fourie on a high.
