Fortune set for another sweet success

Justin Snaith sent out his incredible brigade of star racehorses on WSB Met Day but straight after in the next racemeeting at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Wednesday he sends out more with bright futures.

Up-and-coming Sweet Green in Race 1 should get punters off to a winning start. Andrew Fortune had the day of his life last Saturday, landing his first WSB Cape Met with See it Again and could start the day in style with Sweet Green, who looks to be the stand-out bet on this competitive 10-race card.

The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight was the talk of the town on debut and started deep in the red on that occasion. He did show good promise but failed by just 0.40-lengths to overhaul Catwalk King. The latter franked the farm when finishing third in the Charles Dickens Stakes, so the form line is decent.

With that experience under her belt and Fortune back in the irons, she should be hard to beat in this Maiden Juvenile Plate over 1000m.

Another horse held in high regard is Fast Train who runs for veteran trainer Patrick Kruyer in Race 2, also over 1000m. The Rafeef gelding was one of the fastest finishers behind improving Snaith sprinter Gold Giboski on debut and then showed that was no fluke as he finished second best behind Fox On The Run who was the quickest finisher in the final 400m of the Grade 1 Cape Guineas.

The horse just behind Fast Train, Objet D’Art, has come out to win while Sommerstern, who was further back, now has two wins in the bank.

All that augurs well for the winning chances of Fast Train with JP van der Merwe in the irons.
