Jack Milner: Fly My Flag looks to be a useful and versatile filly.
Sharon Kotzen’s charge has run well on both Polytrack and turf and seems to be comfortable in races over distances from 1000m to 1400m.
The Querari filly lines up in Race 7, a MR 96 Handicap for fillies and mares over 1000m on the turf at Fairview today. She does stand out as the class runner but there is a concern. While she has run well in her one race over 1000m, she has not won over the distance.
However, that was in the Glendore Sprint where she took on the colts. The same is true for her last start which was over 1400m on the turf. It was a MR 93 Handicap in which she finished a 1.75-length third behind The Highway Man.
On that occasion she kicked the gate and hurt her nose, so there were excuses.
This time she is back against her own sex and should find her way back into the No 1 box.
Louis Mxothwa takes the ride again.
