Fly high at the Vaal

Twelve Oclock High will be having his last race as a two-year-old at the Vaal on Tuesday and he should make it a winning one when he lines up in Race 4, a Maiden Juvenile Plate over 1200m.

The son of Red Ray had a most promising race on debut last time when finishing a two-length fifth behind well-backed Corrupt, who was also having his first run, in a Maiden Juvenile Plate over 1160m at Turffontein.

Trained by Stuart Pettigrew Twelve Oclock High opened at 7-1 for that run but drifted to 25-2 by the off. Sadly, he did not have the best of fortune in running and after losing ground at the start, he also found himself baulked and had to be switched.

Despite all that he managed to produce a potent finish to finish on the heels of the well-supported runners.

Calvin Habib too the ride on that occasion and he is back in the irons for this race and with the run under his belt and the experience that he will have gained should make Twelve Oclock High a hard horse to beat in this field.
