Fairy Knight for Fairview hat-trick

After a quiet start to theyear, trainer Alan Greeff and jockey Richard Fourie are now starting to stream the winners, and classy Fairy Knight should prove too good for his five rivals onthe turf track at Fairview on Friday.

He runs in Race 6, a Pinnacle Stakes over 1400m. The now five-year-old gelding has won 12 of his 24starts and is seeking a hat-trick after some smart recent wins on thePolytrack. His record over this distance is excellent, having won three of hisfive starts and finishing runner-up on the other two occasions.

He looks very wellweighted in this race. With it being a small field, the pace is unlikely to bestrong, and he could well make all the running.

His stable companion, GuyGibson, is talented but not an easy horse to win with. His record of just three wins from 24 starts testifies to his difficulty in finishing off his races. However, jockey Andrew Fortune is very good with horses of this nature, so it would be no surprise if he is able to get the best out of Guy Gibson.

Interestingly, all Guy Gibson’s runs at Fairview have been on the Polytrack and it will be interesting to see how reverting to turf will affect his performance.

The only other likely danger appears to be the Dean Smith-trained USA’S Hope. This United States-bred gelding has not won for over a year, but he is consistent and should once again challenge for top honours.
