Extra distance to benefit Harajuku at Kenilworth

There is quite an interesting card at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Wednesday and there look to be some decent bets.

Perhaps the best of the day comes up in Race 2 where Justin Snaith sends out Harajuku to contest this Maiden Juvenile Plate over 1600m.

A son of new Japanese-bred sire Danon Platina it comes as no surprise that his name is Japanese, and while it literally translates as “post town on the plains”, Harajuku is actually a district of Tokyo.

The grey colt has shown ability in both of his starts over 1200m, finishing second behind Teflon Man on debut and then a 2.55-length fourth behind Zil Moris in his next start, producing the second fastest 400m to finish in both runs.

Captain Arrow, who finished 2.25 lengths behind Harajuku last time, did come out to in his next race so has franked that form.

Harajuku should be ideally suited to the additional 400m and looks hard to oppose in this line-up.

Snaith appears to be playing musical jockeys with this fellow as Grant van Niekerk will be the third jockey to ride him in his three outings.
