The R150 000 Paddock Stakes (race 6), over 1600m, is the first of two listed features at Fairview this Friday. Greeff saddles four runners in the Paddock Stakes, with Luna Halo the stable elect. She was disappointing in her last start in the Listed East Cape Breeders Stakes but should be ready to run a big race in this contest. Luna Halo loves track and trip. If she and Veale are at their best, this combination should be right there to give the visitors a run for their money.
Rainbow Lorikeet (Bass-Robinson) and Time For Love (Crawford/Rix) are the visitors. There is not much between them and they must be respected. Greeff has good backup in Crimson Princess who loves the mile. Rockie Reef makes her debut for the Smith yard and can place from a wide draw.
Bass-Robinson looks set to start the meeting in fine fashion. Maneki Neko (race 1) and English Mistress (race 2) look hard to oppose but there is huge betting support for the first timer Roomformanoeuvre (Kelly Mitchley) to challenge Maneki Neko.
The first of the eight races is off at 12:25.
