Delegation At Turffontein To Present Singapore Pools Trophy

August 2025

22 August 2025

Johannesburg, South Africa — A delegation from Singapore Pools is currently visiting Johannesburg and will be hosted by the 4Racing Executive Team for a series of meetings to strengthen ties and enhance their collaboration with South African horseracing.

The collaboration between the two countries, which began in 2006, has flourished over the past 19 years and betting on the South African racing product remains vibrant in the island country.

While racing in Singapore was halted in 2024, Singapore Pools was created to provide a legal, safe and trusted avenue for people to place bets and is the only betting operator in Singapore licensed to offer Lotteries, Sportsbetting, and Horse Racing products. They also play a vital role in countering illegal gambling activities.

Over the years, Singapore Pools has evolved rapidly to keep their games relevant while creating a secure and responsible gaming environment for all. Through it all, Singapore Pools, as a fully owned subsidiary of the Tote Board which reports to the Ministry of Finance, remains steadfast in uplifting the community through channelling all surpluses to fund worthy causes that better the lives of Singaporeans.

The delegation, which arrived in Johannesburg on Thursday, comprises Chief Product Officer Simon Leong and Manager (Product Planning & Development) Fu Juncong, and they will remain in the city until Sunday.

They will be consulting with 4Racing’s executive and will have their first opportunity to meet 4Racing CEO Patrick Duff. The delegation will attend Saturday’s race meeting at Turffontein where Race 5 has been named the Singapore Pools Trophy 2025 Pinnacle Stakes over 1600m. They will also be involved with the post-race presentation.

“Singapore Pools is pleased to partner with 4Racing once again to host a Singapore Pools Trophy. By working closely with 4Racing, we offer racing fans in Singapore a unique window into South Africa’s vibrant racing scene,” commented Singapore Pools Chief Product Officer Simon Leong.

4Racing’s CEO Patrick Duff added, “We are honoured to welcome the Singapore Pools delegation to Johannesburg and to Turffontein for this special race day. The close partnership between Singapore Pools and 4Racing is a testament to the global appeal of South African horseracing and the shared values of integrity, innovation, and community upliftment. We look forward to deepening our collaboration and continuing to showcase the vibrancy of our racing product to fans in Singapore and beyond.”
