Spirit Of Dacha should start things off well for favourite players on Monday at Greyville.
This filly is lightly raced for a four-year-old but giving her time looks to have paid off as she has been catching the eye of late.
On plain form she is the one to beat in Race 1, a Maiden Plate for fillies and mares over 1200m.
The Elusive Fort filly has shown good pace in sprints and when given a tougher task trying the bend from a wide draw, she still produced a respectable effort, finishing second behind above-average youngster Three Hearts.
Trainer MJ Odendaal has fitted her with blinkers for the first time as well.
On running style the Polytrack should be perfect. She also looks more forward than the field she meets. But one should still get a good price about her chances as she has not drawn ideally in stall No 8.
Marco van Rensburg takes the ride.
Another runner on the day who looks very well placed is Smart William, who takes his place in Race 4, a MR 66 Handicap over 2000m.
After winning two in a row, he appeared an unlucky loser on the poly. His good form continued in his last two races as he ran on strongly after overcoming wide draws. He may be close to his merit rating ceiling but most of the field he meets either don’t stay 2000m trip or battle to finish their races off on the poly.
Smart William is trained by Peter Muscutt and will be ridden by Donovan Dillon.
