A bigger portion of the Fairview combo special is expected to be dished up at the Polytrack on Tuesday afternoon.
Trainer Alan Greeff and jockey Richard Fourie combined with only one winner at Friday’s Derby meeting on the turf surface. They are expected to step it up on the Poly.
Greeff will saddle at least three strong favourites which Fourie will ride. Eight races are carded.
Marquez makes his Fairview debut for the Greeff stable in the second race. He is the odds-on favourite to win the first leg of the Place Accumulator (13:05).
The son of Rafeef was last seen in November but Greeff usually has his runners ready to rock and roll in situations like this.
“He has breathing issues but has been working nicely. He should give a good account of himself,” Greeff commented.
Meetatthewindsor is the horse to beat in the Classified Stakes over 1600m. This is race four at 14:15 and the first leg of the first Jackpot.
“He was unlucky last time out. He is in with a fighting chance,” Greeff said of the Pomodoro gelding.
The consistent three-year-old filly Gideon’s Daughter was another one who just missed out on victory in her last start.
She will give it another go in race five, the first leg of the second Jackpot at 14:50, a FM handicap over 1900m. The yard sees her as a big runner.
The meeting starts at 12:30 and Queen Of Jazz (Gavin Smith) should not miss the mark in the first leg of the Bipot in this Maiden Juvenile Plate for fillies.
Colonel Green (Smith) and Storm Boulevard (Kelly Mitchley) should fight it out in the third race, which gets the Pick Six underway at 13:40.
