Cat Ninja caught the eye when second on debut and can go one better in the Darley EBF Maiden Fillies’ Stakes at Windsor.
Unraced as a juvenile, the Cotai Glory colt was just held when finishing strongly by Run Away at Yarmouth on debut last month. The John and Thady-Gosden trained three-year-old can break his maiden here as he steps up to a mile.
Sergio Parisse can get off the mark in the British Stallion Studs EBF Restricted Maiden Stakes for Clive Cox.
The Sergei Prokofiev colt was third on debut in a Leicester maiden, beaten two lengths in a field of 12 over a five-furlong trip. The bay now steps up to six furlongs with a good pilot on board in Rossa Ryan and should take a step forward now he has a run under his belt.
Englemere comfortably came out on top when breaking her maiden tag at Catterick last month and a return to the winner’s enclosure is on the cards in the British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes at Carlisle.
The two-year-old steps up in class but she can take that in her stride to make it back-to-back victories for George Boughey.
Elim will hope to make it two from two on turf in the Watch Racing TV In Stunning HD Handicap at Redcar. Ed Bethell’s four-year-old was last seen over a year ago and can make a winning return to the track.
Also at Redcar, the Boughey-trained Dolce Vitta can strike in the racingtv.com EBF Restricted Maiden Stakes.
The chestnut was third on debut in an Ascot contest over five furlongs in early May, but this is likely a lesser task and unlike many rivals here, she has the benefit of a run already.
At Newton Abbot, it is Jimmy Frost’s Pirates’ Tale who holds the most appeal in the Newtonabbotracing.com Novices’ Hurdle.
The six-year-old was second in a bumper on debut at the track and has since turned his hand to hurdling, getting the hang of things in his past two runs with pleasing efforts at Exeter. A winner at just over two miles there in March, he then returned to the track to finish second over the same trip when beaten a length and a half.
Both runs were on testing ground and while he will encounter different conditions this time, he has the assistance of a top rider in champion jockey Harry Cobden.
Switch Hitter has disappointed in his last two runs when pulled up in handicap chases but can benefit from dropping down in class in the Totnes And Bridgetown Steeplechase Company Open Hunters’ Chase. The nine-year-old will carry top-weight but that will not phase a capable rider in Natalie Parker and trainer Paul Nicholls.
