Cash in on Fourie in the Cape

Champion jockey Richard Fourie has a full complement of competitive rides at Cape Racing's midweek meeting on Wednesday and it should pay to follow him throughout the eight-race card at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth.

Fourie's rides in Races 3 and 5 are of particular interest so customers are encouraged to maximize their potential winnings by including his trio in their bets.

Canford Cliffs colt Umfula is an attractive proposition in Race 3 over 1800m. This maturing three-year-old from the stable of Brett and James Crawford made up a lot of ground when a fast-finishing second last time out over 2000m and he needn't improve much to go one better in Leg 1 of the day's Pick 6 under Fourie, who has ridden Umfula in each of his four appearances.

Fourie takes back the reins from Rachel Venniker aboard progressive last-start winner Legal Counsel in Race 5.

A three-year-old son of Legislate, he was a cosy two-length winner over 1400m last month when settling in midfield before powering clear to win as he liked - the margin of victory probably flattering the runner-up.

This Snaith-trained gelding comfortably accounted for a good field of hard-knockers so a resultant five-point penalty shouldn't halt his progress.

Furthermore, Legal Counsel is bred to appreciate the step up to 1800m and, if improving for it, another visit to the winner’s enclosure is on the cards for both horse and rider.
