A tough card awaits punters at Fairview on Friday and the move to the Polytrack will have a further impact.
A further 19mm overnight and with rain still falling, the meeting was moved from the Turf to the Polytrack due to unsafe underfoot conditions and surface water in certain areas of the track.
Race 3 will be run over 2200m
Races 5, 6 and 7 will be run over 1300m
Trainer Gavin Smith could not have asked more of Cairon (Race 4) than he produced in his three starts for him, as the Twice Over gelding picked up a hat-trick of wins.
Winning on his local debut over 1600m and following that up with a pair of wins over 1800m.
Those wins have come at a cost of 13 points to his merit rating and the five-year-old steps up to 2000m this time but the way he has finished off his last two wins suggests the distance will not be a problem.
All of his wins, however, have been on the turf so hopefully he will adapt to the change on surface.
Warren Kennedy takes the ride.
