Bullet Point to make his mark at Haydock

October 2024

Bullet Point makes a swift return to action in the Paul Fenney Celebration Of Life Handicap at Haydock on Friday.

After showing some ability in three starts earlier in the year, the William Haggas-trained Bullet Point was gelded and enjoyed a bit of a mid-season break before returning to action at Wolverhampton late last month for his handicap bow.

Off a mark of 75, he ran with credit in fourth place but that was just a warm-up for Newcastle earlier this week, where he powered home by 4-lengths from a 1-point lower perch.

He made the pace that day and certainly did not appear to be all out in victory, which suggests the 6-point penalty here should not be beyond him over 1600m once again.

Yabher can make it a double for Haggas and jockey Tom Marquand in the Racing To School British Stallion Studs EBF Novice Stakes.

A son of Sea The Stars out of a former Haggas trainee in Muffri'Ha, Yabher had to work hard for victory on debut at Doncaster.

Sent off a 33-1 shot, he defied those long odds to edge a nose verdict over Ride The Thunder, who has since placed second again at York.

Drama has yet to strike on turf, but he could right that statistic in the Watch On Racing TV Handicap.

He was another who had a short holiday at the height of the summer, returning from 53 days off the track to triumph in a class two heat at Kempton last month.

Raised 4-points for that win, Drama tackles a slightly lower class contest and while the ground is an unknown, he might have a little still to give.

Times Edition has carried plenty of expectation as a Kingman half-sister to Breeders' Cup winner Newspaperofrecord.

She is clearly well short of her illustrious sibling's level but after two second places, she appeared to have broken her duck at Pontefract last month.

However, she gave the second With Style a bump in the closing stages and given just a nose separated the pair, the stewards had little option but to reverse the placings.

The Join Racing TV Now Novice Stakes at Redcar gives her chance to make amends.

Facoulty is the pick in the Download The Racecourse App Raceday Ready Nursery Handicap at Newcastle after a recent second at Southwell.

She comes from a solid, winning family and victory would certainly enhance her appeal ahead of a sales date next month.

Nickelforce can build on a 5-length victory at Stratford in the norfolkhospice.org.uk Handicap Chase at Fakenham.

The handicapper has not gone too mad with a 6-point rise and Ben Case's runner could now thrive over fences after a moderate hurdles career.

Pretending should make a successful seasonal return in the Uttoxeter Racecourse New Years Eve Raceday Handicap Hurdle at that track.

Winner of a competitive Cheltenham heat in April, she can strike from bottom-weight. - Press Association
