Bank on Ferrie at Greyville Polytrack

Both Ilha Da Orange and Bank Street have found new leases of life now competing on the Polytrack at Hollywoodbets Greyville

Ilha Da Orange was trained by Lucky Houdalakis when winning her maiden easily on the Highveld, and while the horse she beat, Flight Of A Condor, has gone on to three solid wins since, she didn’t fire up again.

A move to KwaZulu-Natal to trainer Kom Naidoo worked out well for the lightly raced daughter of Duke Of Marmalade who ran out an easy winner when tried on the Polytrack over 1200m.

She followed that up with a third-place finish from a wide gate in Class 4 company, a grade up from her previous start, and caught the eye when finishing strongly. She is back at the Course in Race 2 on Wednesday to contest a Class 5 Handicap for fillies and mares over 1200m and should get back to winning ways. She has also drawn well.

Bank Street, also racing off a humble handicap rating, looks to have more to come after an easy last-start win, beating back-in-form Teerex by 2.20 lengths conceding 4.5kg. The Stuart Ferrie-trained gelding is set to jump from stall No 3 in Race 8, a Class 4 Handicap over 1200m, where he has to have every chance.
