S’manga Khumalo has been in top form, but the former champion jockey was injured in the stalls on Sunday in the final race at Greyville.
He did not ride at the Vaal on Monday but at this stage no replacement jockeys have been named for Tuesday’s Kenilworth meeting so hopefully all is well, and he will be riding.
He could get off the mark in Race 2, where he rides Futura colt Aus Bob who has returned from a rest in good order.
Justin Snaith’s charge won his maiden on his comeback and followed up with staying-on third over 1600m when last seen. He will be at peak fitness and lines up in a similar contest, so should double his tally under a rider in form.
Khumalo also has chances aboard Piet Steyn’s recently gelded Boisterous Buddy in Race 3 over 1000m and veteran Power Grid in Race 4.
